Matt Menefee is a Nashville-based musician, composer, and recording artist redefining the banjo’s role in modern music. A native of Artesia, New Mexico, he won the prestigious Winfield National Banjo Championship at age 17, launching a career that spans genres from bluegrass to classical and video game–inspired compositions. His solo releases include Lazer Beast (2020) and The Hit Points (2018) with another upcoming album in 2026. Matt is a founding member of Wood Box Heroes, is currently touring with Mumford & Sons, and has collaborated with the likes of Béla Fleck, Ricky Skaggs, and Bruce Hornsby.
