Melanie Ross is Associate Professor of Liturgical Studies at Yale Divinity School and Yale Institute of Sacred Music. She holds a Ph.D. in Liturgical Studies from the University of Notre Dame, an M.A.R. from Yale University, and a B.S. in music education from Messiah College. Melanie’s scholarship lies at the intersection of ecumenical liturgical theology, North American evangelicalism, and the worship practices of contemporary congregations. She is the author of Evangelical vs. Liturgical? Defying a Dichotomy (2014) and Evangelical Worship: An American Mosaic (2021). In addition to her books, she has co-edited numerous volumes and contributed articles to leading academic journals. Her favorite part of the job is her students, who make her laugh and inspire her every day.
